June 21, 2020 | Superintendent Woods: "Local districts have authority to chart their course for upcoming school year. Our role is to support them"

​June 1, 2020 | The Georgia Department of Education, in partnership with the Georgia Department of Public Health, released 'Georgia's Path to Recovery for K-12 Schools', restart guidelines for the 2020-2021 school year.

April 1, 2020 | Governor Kemp announced all K-12 public schools will remain closed for the remainder of this school year.

March 26, 2020 | Governor Kemp signed an executive order closing all K-12 public schools through April 24, 2020.

Specifically, in the Governor's executive order:
  • It is furthered ordered: ​ That public elementary and secondary schools shall remain closed for in-person instruction through April 24, 2020 with limited exceptions for meal preparation and distribution, continuity of distant learning  opportunities, and any other necessary functions as determined by the local school superintendent.

March 16, 2020 | Governor Kemp signed an executive order closing all K-12 public schools through March 31, 2020.
